Our Workforce

Business will eventually be determined by the productivity of its employees. The Kentucky 1-71 Connected region has a skilled and diverse workforce that still maintains a traditional American work ethic. In fact, Kentucky as a whole has an extremely productive workforce. The state produces almost two percent more output per dollar invested in wages than the U.S. average. The quality of labor in the region has long been considered the primary factor for business reinvestment and growth.

The Kentucky 1-71 Connected labor market encompasses seventeen counties in Kentucky, seven in Indiana and one in Ohio. The region currently has a labor force of over 55,000. A unique aspect of the regions labor force is the exponential increase as the radius expands. As you move out fifty miles from the regions center the labor force increases over twenty times to more than 1.3 million.
